This year FPCSB’s theme for Lent is Caring for Creation. We are trying to prayerfully and intentionally examine, honor, and care for the fragile planet we have been bequeathed.
God saw everything that he had made, and indeed, it was very good.
Genesis 1:31, NRSV
Be glad, earth and sky!
Roar, sea, and every creature in you;
be glad, fields, and everything in you!
The trees of the wood will shout for joy
when the Lord comes to rule the earth.
He will rule the peoples of the world
with justice and fairness.
Psalm 96:11-13, Good News Bible
From quark to planet
from quark to planet your universe is awesome.
Give us eyes to gape at the wonders daily about us,
and the will to live in the harmony of your creating.
Help us to own the connections of all things,
even at cost to our own wants and comforts,
so we may live gently on earth,
and all creation praise you. Amen
The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it (Psalm 24:1)
